Rather than fight with the corporations over who's going to make 50 cents off the next sale of a Justin Timberlake CD, Red Pets has moved on, looking for the next frontier. Lately, we've been helping out with the e-commerce arm of Tamizdat -- a nonprofit organization committed to bringing the vast world of Eastern and Central European independent music to "the West". Fully outfitted with full-song sound clips, RPM truly is the ultimate resource for Polish punk, Czech avant-garde, and Slovenian experimental music, to name a few.
Red Pets is now collecting some hard-to-find tracks and committing them to MP3. Everything on this page is here is provided free with permission of the artists. We call it Wiretap. Download and enjoy. And don't abuse the technology -- when it's indie, buy it. Independent musicians make their livings off their CDs, and probably don't make as good a living as you do. |
